Nirvana - From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah

This album turned out to be the second of now four posthumous albums that Krist and Dave would release following Kurt’s suicide. It’s a good listen, it gives us a glimpse of what Nirvana sounded like live, which often times is different than the studio products. Why not 5 stars? It didn’t contain enough rarities. I know, I sound like a snob (and believe me, I try not to be), but I had already collected all of these rarities on bootleg and from official released sources already by the time it was released. The most likely songs that the general public hadn’t heard was “School” and “Spank Thru”. “School” was of course on Bleach and a live version had been released on a single before. “Spank Thru”? Meh. It was on a Sub Pop compilation album before, and it wasn’t a great song to begin with.

Still, it was a good listen, as it reminded us of all the glory that once was Nirvana.
